Muslims encounter Jesus
In one of our meetings we had a special time to pray for healing. All who were sick were given the opportunity to be prayed for. While we were praying, a lady stood up and shared with excitement that Jesus had healed her. While she was sharing her testimony, a Muslim lady walked by. She stopped outside and listened, after a while she got so curious that she came in to the store where we were gathered. After only a short while she said “can you pray for me too? I am also sick and want to get healed.” Everybody were shocked. It was the first time they had experienced a Muslim who asked the Christians for prayer. They were also very excited, and would gladly pray for her. They had to pray slowly, because the Muslims in China speaks their own language, and she didn’t know Chinese very well.
While they were praying for her one of the brothers asked her “do you want to believe in Jesus?” she nodded affirmative, and gave her life to Jesus. From that moment she started to feel better. When she came home her husband was astounded. This was a very poor family, and they had already spent all their money on medicine and doctors. The doctor had told them that the lady only had a few more months to live. They were all out of money, and were totally helpless. Because of this they got hope again.
This whole family started going to the meetings in this house church, and after short time all of them got baptized. People from church also came to visit them at home often. On the other hand the Muslim leaders of that area were not so excited. They gathered a group of Muslims, and surrounded the house of this family with weapons in their hands. They shouted to the family “If you deny this Christian religion and confess that you are good Muslims we will let you live, if not we will kill you!”
The man in the house was not so easily threatened. He shouted back: “who of you came here to help us when we were so poor that we didn’t have any food on our table? Who of you came to visit us here when my wife was told that she only had a few months left to live, and we couldn’t afford treatment?” Only the Christians came to help us. They are the only once to show compassion! You live close to us, all of you. You are my neighbours, but not one of you have cared for us at all. I went to the Mosque as a good Muslim, but I got no help there. Only Jesus helped my family when we needed it. Only Jesus healed my wife when she was about to die.
Never before had anyone talked to the Muslims like this, fear came over them, and they did not move a muscle to hurt the family. One by one they all disappeared. They had no other option. Today this family is hosts for a house church there, in the middle of this Muslim Town.
